The Science and Sensibility blog has research summaries about breastfeeding for 2004-2008. It’s lengthy, so I’ll just let you go read over there. It’s very interesting, and covers a wide range of breastfeeding topics, from maternal positioning, skin-to-skin contact, and growth curves. Of particular interest to those of you who are currently pregnant, or who are around pregnant women (as friends, doulas, birth educators, etc.) are the ones that discuss birth and the immediate postpartum, and what effects, if any, the birth environment has on breastfeeding initiation, duration, etc.
